| Spring
2009 |
 |
| Welcome to
our Spring edition of GO magazine. After a
very successful BETT we are still working
at getting Roamer-Too into production. You
can pre-order before production to ensure
you get yours as soon as it is available. |
 |
| This edition
of GO looks at the development of Roamer-Too
as a special needs robot. In fact Roamer-Too
started its life as a response to requests
from SEN specialists who were using Classic
Roamer with their children. We carried out
a research project with Canterbury Christ
Church University and a group of specialist
teachers and from this research the idea of
a modular robot was born and it started off
the development of SEROTA (Special Education
Robotic Teaching Aid). This later transformed
into Roamer-Too when it was realised that,
being modular, it could also help in mainstream
education. |
 |
| From the latest
technology to the earliest. We look at the
start of the whole phenomenon of education
robots and the invention of Logo – the
language of the Valiant Turtle. |

| Roamer-Too
Training site |
 |
| In order to
support teachers’ in their use of Roamer-Too
Valiant is developing a training site. As
soon as it is available we will include a
link so we can get your feedback which will
of course help ensure that we really are helping
you get the best use of Roamer. |
